The Horsemanship Program

The Pride South Equestrian Horsemanship Program has been designed to create an understanding of control with the equine on the ground.

The importance of this is to create confident, assertive, safe & alert equestrians.

This plan of action sets our lesson program apart.

Before ever mounting in the saddle we want the students to understand the behavior of our non-speaking friends. To learn to listen and observe. To move in sync. Horses have a language all of their own that we must be aware of to create a long lasting trusting relationship with them.

Our students are taught to maneuver safely, observe for communication, behavior management, understand tack equipment, to be aware of the outside influences, and so much more.

After the graduation of level III, the student will transition into formal, one on one lessons.

Formal lessons currently offered in the English Hunter/Jumper discipline as well as Western pleasure or ranch riding. We also provide lessons in halter class.

For other specialized disciples the student is showing interest in such as reining, barrel racing, dressage, etc the individual would need to provide their own personal horse that has the skill set to perform that discipline. PSE can instruct on effective cues to reach their goals.
